Super Joshi is a multilingual rapper and producer from London.
He started writing lyrics at an early age, never thinking about rhyming or singing. He just couldn’t help it. They would come to him everywhere. It was like a tap on all the time, dripping. He then started recording under a different name and was even a BBC Introducing Artist of The Week under that alias.
Plot Twist. Around this time, he suddenly lost his voice and was left unable to speak for two whole months. He then went through speech therapy to regain his lost powers. Not knowing if he’d be able to rhyme or sing again, he was determined to still make music. The ideas were still coming though. So during this time, he learnt to produce music through Berklee School Of Music Online and Point Blank.
Following this period of self discovery and rehabilitation lasting many years, he emerged as an allrounder able to produce and rap. Unbelievably he then hosted a new music radio show on London’s Lyca Radio for 3 years, championing great artists from around the world. Freeing his voice by promoting others.
His production highlights so far include airplay on BBC Radio 1, 1xtra and BBC Asian Network, performing at Trafalgar Square, hosting a residency in Germany, as well as a production credit on a Vybz Kartel track.
